Will this pc work well for gaming and schoolwork?

Solution
Ok, ThePCPicker24, I looked at your build and here are some notes. First, you choose K version of CPU. This is one you can overclock if you want, but then you need a motherboard with a Z in name, like Z170 instead of B150 (B are the most cheap). If you dont want overclock, then just get cheaper version and you don't need a special cpu cooler in that case. The standard cooler with your cpu is enough. Also case fans are not necessary, as your case does have some. All these extra stuff is just needed, if you really want replace loud parts or want overclock.

Second, I can recommend you to buy a SSD drive, which will dramatically improve installing and loading time of Windows, Apps and Games. Its one of the best things you can buy for a...

This link: "pcpartpicker.com/list/" always shows what you saved yourself. If I load this site, I will see what my current configuration is. You must copy the link right of text "Permalink: " or "Markup: ". Then we can see the configuration you are talking about. Also, can you specify what you want play? Did you ever play on pc before? Is 60 Hz/FPS enough to you and would you mind to lower graphics settings to like of PS4? What is your budget and do you have hardware like monitor and keyboard/mouse or a Windows license?

oops, thats quite embarrassing. Okay, I changed the link. I have not gamed or owned a PC before but my brother has and can help me to set it up even though I am quite confident I do know what I am doing now. I want to play games such as Battlefield 1, CS:GO, GTA 5 and (I know, pretty weird...) Minecraft. I want for them to run at high settings or ultra and at at least around 60 fps for the more gpu intensive games. I do own a monitor and mouse but have added another mouse on the list because its wireless and one less cable to manage with. I went a bit above my budget for my birthday and Christmas together but I will be paying for the GPU.
Thank you for your ongoing support!

Second, I can recommend you to buy a SSD drive, which will dramatically improve installing and loading time of Windows, Apps and Games. Its one of the best things you can buy for a pc. 250 GB is not big, but plenty for Windows, Apps and some big games.

The GTX 1070 is a very powerful card and should be enough for you request. I own a less powerful card the GTX 970 and it almost meets your requirements. Btw, do you play at Full HD resolution? 1920*1080. I would say, even a GTX 1060 should be enough for you, which is a little more powerful than mine GTX 970 previous generation. I replaced it to 1060 in this case.

Next thing, the psu is not bad but not first class. There are some other better one (also from EVGA made by other psu makers). If you don't mind, I recommend you a different one here.

And then the CPU. If you have the budget, then get the i7 processors. Some games and probably later newer games will thank you for that with fps. I bet, you will not change cpu once you buy it. So think about it. Some games really works better with better processor and if you want a gaming machine primarily for gaming, then this is a good step. From my prevous talk about K version of cpu, even if you dont overclock them, they have a higher base clock. So you can take this in consideration.

Ok enough talk. Here is a variation of your build:

Will changing the gtx 1070 to 1060 just to get an i7 really a smart move? I feel I would get better fps from a better you then a processor. Thanks.

Wait. This is just a smart move for future, if you upgrade your graphic cards. For now, you would not get more fps by getting better cpu and worse graphic cards. Its just because I assume you never upgrade cpu, but you will graphics card. Under this assumption, I recommend you the best cpu instead a stripped of version.

BUT as everyone recommends, get i5 + 1070 if you never upgrade again. It should be better fps than i7 + 1060.

Okay, I got that. I think I am going to go with I5 because I really dont see the point of getting an I7 for the next 4 years on my pc.
Thanks for your help.
Anything else I should keep in mind?
Also, could I have an approximate of how many fps I would get on gta at ultra with msaa X2 and Battlefield 1 on ultra?

Thanks again.

Google would bring some topics. I can look for you what I can find.

This site tests with i7 with different cards. GTA V gets with high quality settings at full hd (1080p) around 91 FPS. Lower this some fps for you i5, as GTA is some of the games who can use i7 power. Some games don't and then the fps would not change. I am not sure if there is higher settings then very high, but if, then you should lower the fps count too. But I think, it would stay above 60 FPS. Just predicting.

Here is an interesting discussion about your config and GTA:

A video benchmark with i5 and 1070 at full hd resolution and everything ultra settings. It stays below 60 fps, so my above prediction was incorrect. ;-)

Battlefield 1. Here is a video gameplay with a previous generation i5, but overclocked. It sometimes struggles to stay at 60 fps and on some action scenes it goes down to below 50 fps. Settings ultra (with an exception) and 1080p/full hd resolution.

Here Battlefield at ultra settings at full hd, they get 137 fps average and going down sometimes to 101 fps. This is in Direct X 11 mode. In Direct X 12 mode, it gets a bit lower fps. But I don't know the rest of its hardware.

So in short, i can't say what fps you would get, but seeing these gameplay videos and benchmarks, you should be ok. I think you can play both games at least with 60 fps at full hd at ultra settings. Maybe 1 or two settings is needed to dial down. Just predicting... oh... didn't I was wrong with my previous prediction? ;-)
