Today my new 1070 arrives and I will for the first time be making the swap from AMD to Nvidia. I have no experience with Nvidia drivers or what to look for in a stable driver so I would like an opinion on the most stable driver to download for this 1070. I do know to use the DDU software to clean my system of AMD drivers before installing the new Nvidia card. Would just like some input on what driver.

Also I've seen people comment that this 1070 can reach 2,000 MHZ fairly easily with GPU boost 3.0 and I'm wondering if I'm going to experience almost double the performance I would on my current R9 290x

When I'm looking at the specs my R9 290x runs at 1,000 MHZ core clock and 1,250 MHZ memory. The MSI 1070 I bought will run at 1,900-2,000 MHZ core fairly easily along with 8,000 Mhz memory

So when switching brands, first when your amd card is in the system, delete all the drivers of amd gpu, you can do this how you normally delete the programs in your windows in ' add or remove programs', then swtich off, change to nvidia gpu, when you boot it may look all low quality resolution. Now head over to the nvidia site, dowanload the latest drivers of there, theres a option for autodetect, use it, and download and install the latest drivers, enjoyy
