I scrounged 2 sticks of 8gb G-skill from a friends old mining rig and added it to my current set up of 2 sticks of 8gb Patriot Ram.
Bios and Cpu-z can see all 4 sticks but Windows will only use 16gb.
It's not a mobo limitation. All sticks are seated properly, double checked. So any clues on what is going on?
I haven't mixed brands before but this should be hypothetically possible. I imagine there's just some setting that's not working right?
