Upgrading cpu, fx-4100 to fx-6300. Won't boot with 6300, 4100 still boots fine.

So i just purchased a fx-6300 processor, used on ebay so it may be defective, but i'm trying to run through everything to confirm if that is the case. My old cpu runs perfectly, the fx-4100, but when i put the 6300 in i get everything powering on inside the pc, fans and all, but then nothing on the monitor, no signal from the computer at all, not even for a second. I am using the msi 970a-g43 plus motherboard and a gtx 970 gpu, i have tried a lower powered gpu aswell to the same result. My PSU is 460W and I'm using the stock cooler. I don't hear beeps for either cpu so idk if I'm missing a cord that i need to plug in on the front panel, I wouldn't really know which it is, all i have in is the power switch cuz i was lazy and unaware but yeah all help is appreciated and I can give more info if I'm missing anything, typing this out with a bit of urgency and frustration xD

Make sure you are looking at the 970a-g43 PLUS mobo, it only has 2 bios versions 1.0 and 1.1 which I have the latest of and yes I reset it inbetween changes.

The seller is persistent that it isn't broken and worked flawlessly so if anybody has any suggestions for things I may have missed I would love the input. Thanks

everything i read said it wasn't a big deal and that the other 4 pins were only really needed if I was gonna overclock it
