So I've just bought my new asus strix z270e, and it managed to run fine with, but only my h115i's fans were going, and not the pump, like at all. So I redid the wiring and have tried connecting different fan headers to several different spots and for the life of me I can't even get it to start now. Every time I start the pc regardless of fan arrangements this is what I get now:

Cpu fan speed error detected.
Ensure that the cpu fan is properly installed on the cpu_fan header

corsair as most others are based on asetek design thats prone to pump failure.
new or used hydro?
the pump should be on cpu or LC pump connector.
switch how it "should" be...

power down pc.
remove power cord from pus. press power button for 10s. switch psu switch to off.
plug cord back in. switch to on and power up..

than something else is wrong. did you check bios settings?
maybe do reset and start with optimized values again.

i swapped fan ports a few times, and i got the wrong readouts (fan reporting 4000rpm instead of ~500, pump reported as 500rpm chassis fan) which i could fix that way...
