I don't overclock.
This issue first arose about 3 months ago and lasted about a day. Has been non-issue until yesterday. My computer has been seemingly randomly crashing during video game play (World of Warcraft mulitiple times, Overwatch once). It's never happened during anything I'd consider "intensive" with graphics (particles and people everywhere) and what not, it usually happens during questing or in the case of Overwatch, it happened while queuing for a game. I've never had issues with crashing while raiding or the like.
The computer crashes straight to black, and then try to reboot itself. Most times it would get stuck in a power cycle (no idea if this is the proper term). The fans would start whirring, lights light up, etc, and then turn off for a moment. Turn back on, then off. Repeat over and over. Sometimes it would get to the boot screen or even the login screen, but it would usually crash again until I've turned the psu off and on again. I really didn't do anything that seems like it would've fixed the issue, it just stopped happening.
And now it's happening again. I suspect the PSU might be the issue, but I'm not really sure. I changed a setting so that Windows wouldn't restart after shutting down, but it still tries to power on anyway. I downloaded HWinfo monitor and AIDA64 to stress test. About 6 minutes into the stress test, it crashed. I logged the test with HWinfo, but nothing really stands out to me as causing the issue. No temps jumped above ~60c. Getting the computer to start running again after the stress test was the most issue I've had so far. Even turning the PSU off and back on didn't fix the issue of power cycling for a few attempts. That seems to me like an overheating issue, but it still just seems bizarre that I'd go 3 months with no issues at all.
My next planned step is to take out the video and try the stress test again to see if that effects anything. I know there is a lot of different things I can do to diagnose, but are there any particular things I can prioritize trying based on the symptoms?
