Okay understand that other sounds, but not your voice, are still being picked up.

Do you hear the same sounds in your headphones/headset as your friends do?

What sound card are you using and what all is plugged into the various 1/8" (3.5 mm) ports on the sound card and motherboard. Verify that you are using the correct ports and connections.

Again try the mic and headset on another system. See if the problem follows the mic and headset.

If not, go into Playback devices and Recording devices per my original post. There are some configuration settings controlling how various sounds are managed. Look at the properties and any "Advanced" tab settings.

"Output sound" meaning your just voice and not other audio such as game sounds and music - correct?

Could be the mic mute button is not working or some physical problem allowing headphone/headset signals into the microphone ciruits.

Try the mic on another system and try another mic on your system. See if the problem follows the mic or stays with the system.

You should also check the audio configuration settings.

Right click the small speaker icon likely located right lower screen corner.

Select Playback devices and Recording devices in turn. Find your devices (should be the default devices) and drill down into the various properties and tabs.

There are many settings so just explore first and see what you find. Then go back and try various options that appear relevant and viable.

Change only one thing at a time and keep notes if you need to reverse some change.

I may have phrased it wrong but I meant other sound such as in game sound, YT videos, etc. Thanks for the help though!
