Hello, I am having a very frustrating problem on my computer.

My PC randomly shuts down while I'm gaming, after a second or two it turns itself back on again, but this time with no display on my TV, no mouse or keyboard lights, the lan led in the back of my motherboard is also off, all fans spinning.

I tried turning it off and on, plugging my old GPU, but it won't work. I am only able to successfully turn on the PC again after it is off for at least 4-5 hours, it works perfectly until I try to play a game, then it is the same process all over again.

Additional information:

The problem started 1 month after I installed a new GPU I also had to update the BIOS since my MOBO was not recognizing my new GPU.
When it first happened, I cleaned my computer even though it was not dirty at all. Then the problem seemed to be fixed, I was able to play games for 15 days without a problem, then it started again.

I believe overheating is not the problem, my temps are 71 C (159 F) on CPU and 69-75 C (156-167 F) on GPU while gaming.
My PSU makes some weird noises sometimes, but I think it is just the fan, it was like this way before this problem started.

I took my PC to a computer shop, they told me it was a faulty PCI express on my MOBO after three weeks they said they had fixed it. I was able to play games for two days, now the problem is back again.

I don't really trust them anymore, so I am asking you guys. Please help if you can, this is so frustrating.

Solution

There are RAM testing softwares like Memtest, which you may wan't

It's unlikely there's a problem with the mobo, which leaves the PSU.

Hi thanks for answering.

It can be the PSU, MOBO maybe even RAM? I do hear a fast single beep when the computer shut down by itself but not when it turn on.

Can I rule out the GPU though?
