How can I fix the USB ports on the rear I/O of my motherboard?

Hello,
Recently I rebuilt an old PC using an Intel Pentium G3420 CPU that I got on Ebay, 8gb of DDR3 ram and a 1tb HDD from my new build, an Nvidia GT210 graphics card, 400 watt BeQuiet PSU, Stock Intel Cooler, an the MSI H81M-P33 Motherboard. I have a 19inch 720p monitor. The idea of this build is a secondary PC for light gaming and just work so I can be away from my primary PC and not get distracted with gaming and just do coursework and stuff and use the Internet.

So I plugged everything in and the PC boots fine. I can sign into Windows 10 but the problem arises when I try to connect stuff through USB. Previously the motherboard and PC were used with an i5 4690k and gtx 970. Same HDD and ram though since I swapped that in the new build with the i5 and 970 though it has a mini-itx card and an ssd now. However in the current new build none of my USB ports work on the motherboard and only one front panel USB 2.0 port works on the case front panel. There is a USB 3.0 port that won't work.

At first I had some driver issues but I seem to have fixed those cause I updated my drivers and it is ok. However the USB ports won't work so I can only use a mouse at one time or a keyboard at another and no Internet. I am ordering a PCIE USB expansion card for my mini-pcie slot. Says it's plug and play so should give me enough to work with so I can fix my current problem. But I don't know what is wrong. Do I have to reset the BIOS since I downgraded the CPU and graphics card? If so how do I do that? Should I reset Windows? I would rather not lose all my work and games, etc. How do I go about fixing this problem?

Many thanks in advance!

Correct me, if I understood it wrong.

So you had pc consisting of:
  • motherboard MSI H81M-P33
    cpu i5 4690k
    ram 8gb DDR3
    gpu gtx 970
    hdd 1tb
    psu 400 watt BeQuiet
You changed:
  • cpu -> Pentium G3420
    gpu -> GT210

If you changed only those things, you should not need to reinstall anything ( may be only gpu drivers).

What was that about mini-itx card and an ssd? Didn't get that.
