Hi ladies and gents,

As the title suggests, I installed a AMD FX-8350 black edition yesterday, which naturally involved removing all hardware components, including my GTX 1060 Strix OC.

Since the new CPU installation my GPU is running very loud which it never did before, presumably at max RPM all the time, where before it would run silent and then speed up slightly, but still remain quiet before.

Can you please help? Could I had installed it incorrectly? No fan control is working with MSI Afteburner and GPU Tweak 2. I can't live with the jet engine inside my case!

Temps are running at 40-50 under stress. (Black Desert online at high settings)

I feel as if though I got something wrong when i re-installed it, but I plugged in a PCI-E wire from PSU into the relevant slot which has a small 2 pin connector attached that slots in directly next to it.

Thanks in advance,

You mean your videocard requires an 8 pin connector, and your power supply comes with a 6 pin connector plus an extra 2 pin connector for these situations, so you have plugged both of those in right?

That CPU is 125W, what did you have before and what motherboard are you using? What kind of power supply do you have?

Thanks for taking the time to respond, it seems after further digging that a wire from the PSU was actually preventing a fan from spinning by obstruction at the very back. Seems when i had moved my case back into its home position the cord must had broke free of my wire management and thus prevented 1/3 of the fans to stop spinning requiring the last 2/3 of the fans to work overtime,

Peace resumes now and the GPU/CPU is working beatuifully (Doubled FPS!)

Thanks again for taking the time to try and help,
