How can I find a ATA/IDE Hitachi Travelstar 120gb external hard drive case enclosure? I had an alluminum one from years ago, but my dog chewed the cords. I couldnt find the same prong cord too replace. I ordered a 2.5"sata serial ATA case, but the attachment pieces are completely different. The new case has less prong spaces and wont turn on hard drive.

Also I have a 2tb Toshiba Canvio external hard drive(practically new) the dog chewed and the cords are chewed apart. The cord opening is even bent. It won't power on with a new cord. What the easiest way to get this plastic casing open without damaging my hard drive? I am so upset the dog knocked down my laptop case with all the external hard drives in it and mangled everything. Separation anxiety issues are no joke!

That Hitachi drive is a standard IDE interface, so any old enclosure like this will do: https://www.amazon.com/HDE-Aluminum-External-Enclosure-Supports/dp/B0097CW6LI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486946445&sr=8-1&keywords=2.5%22+IDE+ENCLOSURE

Just be sure there isn't an adapter piece already on there. Many laptops have a separate plastic pin adapter piece on there which to the untrained eye might look like it's part of the HDD.

As to the 2Tb Toshiba Canvio, I'm afraid you'll accomplish nothing by opening the case. The USB port is built right on the HDD in that one. So unless it's just a broken solder joint and you have good soldering skills, I'd say you'll probably need professional help to get the data off of it.

Thank you, that's the correct piece to fix the hard drive. I ordered another replacement for my hard drive. As for the Toshiba Canvio, I was afraid that was the case. It will probably cost more for getting the data out then a 2tb drive itstelf. I am still mad deep inside that he did that. That's 10 years of my life backed up on these. videos, pictures, work related & important documents. Major set back. My computer is semi full right now and I can't back up or even back up my phone.
