Do I need to update my BIOS before installing my new CPU?

i have the F2A78M-HD2 (rev 3.0) motherboard, i have an amd a6-6400k cpu. However i want to upgrade my cpu to the AMD Athlon II X4 880K. Do i need to update my bios to f2 if (its only f1 at the moment).

Looks like you need to update the BIOS to F3d to use an X4 880K - http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-F2A78M-HD2-rev-30#support-cpu
