So I'm in a bit of a dilemma. My 1080 has been running at 40C max after 24 hours of Heaven so this is definitely not heat related. Honestly I have no idea why suddenly my GPU stopped working completely. I mean it won't even detect in the BIOS!
Anyways so after disassembling my entire hard-line loop which is a real pain in the a**, I have to now remove the EK waterblock and put on the original cooler. Now problem is I purchased the card from Newegg but it was fullfilled by antonline. Paid 750 bucks for the card a week after launch so I was a happy camper, for a time. But now I have to decide whether to RMA the card through Gigabyte or Newegg (antonline).

Hoping for some recommendations, for some eye candy here is what my system looks so far. I'm still hoping it's a motherboard issue but (unfortunately) I've been running on on-board graphics with no problems and RAM/PSU has been checked (no issues at all).

So in the meantime I'm hoping it's a motherboard issue (still, I know I can be quite stubborn). I'm assuming the heavy waterblock may have damaged the PCI-E slot, although I can't tell until I actually start the disassembly.
Considering the time it takes to RMA a graphics card and getting it back along with all the transit time, I bought myself a Z97 Gryphon Armor Series MATX motherboard. Going to send off the armor kit to a modder to have it painted in white to match the case more and hopefully by the time I get that back, I should have the replacement card in my hands!

So should I RMA via Gigabyte or Newegg (which might not be accepted). I really did wish newegg had fulfilled the order, I believe their RMA service is better although I'm not speaking from personal experience. Personally in my 15 years of PC building, I've NEVER had to RMA a thing. Guess you can't always be lucky! In the meantime I guess I'll have to use my R9 290 (watercooled as well) to play overwatch!

On a side-note if anyone is curious on specs, I'll have them listed below:
Hex Gear R40 with Grey Accent Pack
Intel Core i7 4790K @5GHz
Corsair Dominator 16GB @2333Mhz
Gigabyte GTX 1080 @1GHZ <-- Dead now (sad face)
Seasonic X850 KM3 PSU
MSI Z87M Mobo <-- Hope this is the actual problem (wishful thinking, I know =/)

EK PE240 + PE360 Radiators
EK Supreme HF CPU Nickel Waterblock
EK GTX 1080 Clear Acrylic/Nickel Waterblock
EK Res 150 / D5 Pump Combo
Bitspower Nickel Fittings + PETG Tubing
Mayhems Pastel White Coolant

Thanks dude, I'll definitely do some research on how well Gigabyte's RMA process is. If you don't mind me asking, did you have your ASUS card bought from newegg but went the ASUS route for RMA?

Thanks been looking into Gigabyte' RMAs. My God some people have had some horrid experiences! I see lot of recommendations of taking pictures of the card before sending it off along with pictures with the shipping label, etc. Going to be a real pain in the ass compared to ASUS's RMA!
Least from the general consensus it seems ASUS do better in RMA!
