I have a Vantec NexStar MX Enclosure and when it's plugged into my PC via USB 3.0 the computer won't power on, but as soon as I unplug it it immediately powers on on its own, doesn't matter which port it's plugged into. Any ideas what would cause this?

I think it's trying to use the Nexstar as a boot drive. Try going into the BIOS and make sure it has a drive that it tries to force as the boot drive. If all else fails, you may be stuck just unplugging it and replugging it back in.

If that were the case though wouldn't it just fall back to the next drive in line? It's not set as a primary boot drive.

I've also noticed if I plug this enclosure into a powered usb hub I can't power off the hub without unplugging it...really odd. A short perhaps?
