Hey everybody, recently I built a new computer and I'm having a problem with my LED fans flickering. At first I thought my power supply was surging, but the LED on my graphics card isn't flickering nor is any other LED's in the case, just the fans, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the Corsair RGB fan hub controller. I was wondering if anybody has experience with corsair products and if you have ever ran into this problem? Thank you!

BUILD PART LIST:
Case: Corsair 570x
Motherboard: Gigabyte G1 gaming 7
Processor: Intel i7 6700k
Processor Cooler: Corsair H100i
Ram: 32gb Corsair LPX
Hard Drive: 1tb Samsung 850 EVO SSD
Graphics: GeForce GTX 1080 FTW
Power Supply: Evga SuperNOVA G2 750w
Fans: 6 Corsair SP RGB LED

Thanks for replying brother! I would totally try that, but this hub only powers the LED's on the fans. The hub plugs into sata power and has a controller connected to it which controls the color of fans and different pulse patterns.

The reason they flicker is that LED controllers will turn the LEDs on and off to get a desired brightness. Most of the time this is fast enough to not be picked up by the human eye. Some people are able to pick up a slight flicker better than others. And sometimes the LED driver is just faulty itself. Hope this info helps in trouble shooting.

Thanks for replying! Its weird because it doesn't flicker all the time. About two weeks after my build I was gaming and noticed a flicker off the corner of my eye so I stopped gaming to stare at my lights and they continued flickering. The next day I traced my wires and plugged the controller into a different sata connector, and the flickering stopped. Now three weeks later I noticed the same flicker off the corner of my eye.

I have the same problem with 2 out of my six recently built HD120's for some reason it starts flickering during colors like magenta and blue and yellow but not white and red. one of them is flickering through all colors though. I think these two won't last for long.
I'm having a second thought whether to purchase the commander pro or not.

I would also like to point out, something I forgot to mention with the first response, that the issue could also be a bad rectifier or smoothing capacitors either in the power supply or motherboard.

Alternating Current comes in from the wall and the power supply converts it to Direct Current. It uses a bridge rectifier to accomplish this. If that rectifier and capacitors are faulty or worn with age it could also cause the flickering you see. If you have an extra power supply try replacing it. Or possibly unplug some components you don't need to lower stress on the power supply and see if the problem persists.

I would also vouch for this as a solid suggestion since my PSU Corsair AX1200i is having issue ATM with the occasional status light turning red when attempting to boot the PC.

Hey there! I know this is an old post, but I am also experiencing the exact same problem with the exact same 570X case and SP120 RGB fans. Did you ever find a solution? It is literally the most irritating thing I experience. It may seem like a first world problem, but I want to break my PC because of it.

I've done the exact same thing you have; from noticing the flickering to the corner of my eye and staring, to switching from a coupled SATA power to its own SATA power.

I've contacted Corsair before and they sent me a replacement stock RGB controller, which did nothing to alleviate the issue. I rebuilt it recently, it was good for a week, then the problem persisted. I feel like this RGB controller is deliberately faulty to encourage the purchase of the more premium Lighting Node / Commander Pro hardware.

Did you ever find a fix to this problem that doesn't consist of buying new hardware from a different OEM?
