I currently have an intel i5 -2400, 3.1GHz and 8gb of ram, what should I upgrade my graphics card to? Are there are components of my pc I should be looking out for to make sure Im suitable for an upgrade?

Solution
update the BIOS in BIOS itself before installing the new graphics card and you should be ready to go.

My recommendation would be a gtx 1060 with 6GB, because some users over the net did this upgrade already. Didn´t find AMD 4xx series with this combo yet, but doesn´t mean anything for now.

but even a 1070 would be nice, you could upgrade your CPU to an i7 3770 as well

your power supply is fine for any upgrade

Tell more about what other components like how much ram, what motherboard and which current gpu.
Also very important which psu? =maker/model/wattage.

Something like the gtx 1050 ti/1060 or for AMD the rx470/480 should still work nicely.Depends mostly on what psu you have.
