Questions about ram disk

I was reading into how to use a ramdisk junction and I wanted to make sure I was right.

So a ramdisk junction basically copies the files you link it up to inside of a virtual ram drive. Whenever you change or use the files their loaded from the ram instead of the storage device. is that correct?

my setup is a Samsung 960 pro (512GB) and 1 TB hdd. the files I connected to the ramdisk are inside of the slow hdd. will that improve speed as well?

Using 512GB ssd for OS only that takes less than 100GB space seems like a waste. I would keep rendering software on ssd and just move created big files over to hdd for storage once in a while or set the software to write big files directly to hdd (if that does not impact rendering speed).

How will 6GB of disk space with fast read/write help you? For files used by software for reading - just keep those on SSD, for writing - if its less than 6GB then you can write to SSD or if you are worried about SSD lifespan, write to HDD because after you are done you would still need to copy those files from ram drive to HDD.

Why use ram drive when you have fast ssd? I used ram drives in the past when I had only hdd, but after getting ssd I stopped using them because the difference in speed was almost non-existant, the size of ram drive was very limited and it was much less hassle to just use ssd.

the ssd is only for the OS. the main files I use are stored and read from the HDD. I thought about moving it over to the ssd when I'm working but it takes up too much space. I do a lot of cinema 4d rendering and 3d modeling so files are hella big. Also I have 32 gb of ram. I saved at least 6 gb of ram for the ramdisk and setup a junction. Wouldn't that benefit it since its on the hdd?
