I have a laptop with the following specs:
AMD A4-5000 APU with Radeon HD 8330 Graphics
8GB RAM
802.11n Wireless Internet
A 1366x768 Screen
Windows 10
Can I run FSX: Steam Editon?

Just to be clear, this is a laptop. An HP Pavilion Touchsmart 15-n023sa to be precise. Will this affect FSX?

Also, can I use an XBOX 360 controller, and will this be easier than a keyboard and mouse? Simulators are kind of the downfall of my PC knowledge, unfortunately.☹️

Naw i know its a laptop. It may be hit or miss. I have an old A8 that still pulls its weight, but it is a step up from your A4.

A controller... i mean you realize its a simulator.... you don't need much control.

Flaps at 0
ailerons into wind, elevator half inch back from gust lock
Throttle wide open, must get at least 2300 RPMs
slowly decrease aileron deflection
at 55kias pull back on elevator, cowling on horizon
establish wind correction angle after lift off
continue to climb at 70-80kias
level off
set trim
and uh... yeah just stay in the air for a few hours until you decide to land...

Its more about learning the plane than it is actually flying with a controller.

The above will get you lifted off in a cessna, for example. which is easy. The more complex and large the plane the more complex the procedures are.
