First off this forums entry doesn't seem to work at all in Chrome had to switch to Edge.

So I've had this AMD Phenom II X6 processor in a build I did several years ago and never a problem.

Recently though I've had to open the side of the case to get it to cool Fan's are still working. But now I have found even with the case side open the CPU fan is running at full speed.

HWiNFO shows:
CPU (Tclt) 45 C to 55 C
CPU Fan Speed 6367 RPM

SpeedFan shows:
Temp1: 53C
Temp2: 58C
Temp3: 54C
HD0: 41C
GPU: 72C
Core: 45C
Fan Speed 6368

My concern is something is wrong with the fan being so loud. Been a really really long time since I've trouble shooted this kind of thing so wanted to have some experts help on where I should start with.

Use what? Did you mean to post a link or something?

I wondered if the paste could of dried out or something. Is the GPU to hot too? It's a GPU [#0]: AMD Radeon R9 290: CHiL/IR PMBus - GPU Core or could that be because of the amount of heat coming off the CPU not being cooled well.

HWiNFO is what I have.

Case has a large fan on the back of it to exhaust the heat other than that I've not had anything different for years it's probably been 5+ years since I put it together so you might be right about the thermal paste needing to be replaced. I can start with that and see if it helps.

Don't see a way to save the sensor info from the HWiNFO app.

CPU [#0]: AMD Phenom II X6 1045T
CPU (Tctl) AVG 45.6 C right now
CPU Fan Speed shows 6437 RPM Avg

SpeedFan app shows about the same Temp for Core but it has Temp1 Temp2 Temp3 not sure what they represent which are all over 55 C and the CPU fan speed says 6490

I believe it is the OEM fan that came with the CPU thought I ordered from Newegg but don't see it but did get the Motherboard there so the CPU was bought around the same time which was 11/8/2012 so it's been a while. I would of used the CPU Fan and thermal paste that came with it.

HA just found it made me laugh ordered it from CircuitCity.com 11/1/2012

I only have Arctic Silver paste looks like it's the case fan not spinning fast enough to exhaust the heat from the case.

Case fan doesn't plug into motherboard so probably should replace it with one that does so I can see Fan speed of it. Just need to figure out what size it is
