I'm making this thread on behalf of a friend, he's had a perfectly normal working computer, Z170 Asus mobo and samsung 2TB HDD but all of a sudden he's received an error message today telling him he needs to check if the HDD is still connected. Its visible in BIOS and also visible on my computer, but on my computer its name is "BDROM" and is not accessible. He doesn't want to format due to his games and saves being on there. Any suggestions?
