Hi hope someone can help I've looked around and can't finds answers. I have an asus crossair v formula z motherboard which has 2 4 pin cpu pwm fan headers, 3 chassis 4 pin pwm fan headers and 3 opt 4pin pwm headers. I've just purchased 7 corsair Ml white LED pwm fans. According to corsairs website these fans should have a constant 12v supply for the magnetic lift to achieve optimal performance. If I plug them into the 2 cpu fan headers (pwm) the LEDs are lit bright regardless of the rpms 800-2000rpm which is what it's suppose to do but if I connect them into any other header the LEDs dim and brighten depending on the rpm of the fans which indicate a 12v constant supply is not being fed. I've gone through the bios changed and tested everything for chassis fan control and the LEDs still dim and brighten no matter what setting. The fans run ok at lower rpms but it's not working the way they were designed. Does anyone know why my cpu headers receive a constant 12v but the other headers are almost variable?? Do they reach 12v if need to be? I can't find any info on what voltages these headers receive so any help would be great. All fan headers on my motherboard according to asus manual are 4 pin pwm headers.

Solution
Yep.

Chances are that the motherboard is not set to PWM mode and controlling the fans via DC voltage and that's why the LEDs are dimming at lower speeds.
