Maybe it's a really dumb question, but I wonder whether an aftermarket gtx 1080 will do for programming in Cuda and using Deep learning frameworks like caffee.

I've read on forums and always read "it has to be nvidia" but I have no idea if it's nvidia, the manufacturer or nvidia, the pascal architecture.

I'm making this question because I can't get an Nvidia card, just aftermarket ones due to import pollicy in my country.

CUDA is an NVIDIA (the chip manufacturer) specific language. It is not supported by AMD. Any NVIDIA chip based card, doesn't matter the brand name on the card, will support CUDA. The version of CUDA may differ, but they will all support some revision.
