Dell Optiplex 780 tower gpu upgrade (Core 2 Quad and Full Size)

Solution
GTX 750 Ti is popular due to no PCIe power cable on the Dell PSU. With bigger PSU GTX950,1050 become possible. Single slot cards that aren't too long fit. Short 2 slot cards can be modified to fit. An expansion slot blower to pull hot air out from behind the GPU is usually needed.

I have a core2 quad q9550 dell 780 MT, my research shows 305 watt PSU. The best card i figure that will work is a single slot GTX 1050m ,$109 on Newegg. The card must be a single slot design, I currently run a gt730 which is wide but 1 slot and works good, but far below the 1050m specs. The best part is the gtx1050m will run on stock psu of 300 watts. although i think an upgrade for 35 bucks to a 600watt is well worth it.
