Can the metal part of a GPU be cut since it doesn't fit in my case

Solution
Make sure you remove the slot guard on your case to make room for the video outs. Open the tab at the back of the pcie slot. Line up the contact points and press down until the latch pops up to lock the card in then put the screw in the metal support bracket to anchor it to the case.

The part that screws it into your case? If you mean cut the whole thing off definitely no, if just a lil piece to make fit better sure... But don't use something like a dremel. use some sort of tin snips or similar you don't want microscopic tiny metal shavings all over your gpu.
