I have a very old PC. I upgraded a few components today (CPU, RAM, motherboard, and GPU). The hard disks are still the same old ones (there's two of them). I plugged in everything correctly, double checked everything except for one broad thin 40 pin cable. It reads "Asus HDD cable". I think it's called IDE cable. There's no slot for that cable in the new motherboard but it was there on the old one. There's just SATA sockets.
Anyway, when I plugged everything in(except for the HDD cable) and started the system, there was no display (fans were spinning) and after a couple of seconds there were 4 long beeps and 1 short beep before the system restarted and it got stuck in the same loop (5 beeps and restart). Many threads say that 5beeps are CPU problem but I've checked the CPU 3-4 times all the pins are straight and not bent or anything and everything is new. The RAM is in the correct slot. I am thinking it is probably the IDE cable. The motherboard came with 2 SATA cables(that's what they are I guess. The L shaped female plugs). What do I do with the IDE cable? Please help ASAP.
New components I've inserted:-
CPU - Intel core i3 6100
Motherboard- Gigabyte H110M-S2
RAM- HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2133MHz
GPU- Zotac gtx 1050 ti mini 4GB GDDR5
