i recently added a 1050 ti to my system, it worked for a day steadily playing overwatch with the temps not getting very high, then today while i was downloading steam the screen went black. After restarting i have the same issue. if i take the gpu out the system boots into windows normally. any ideas on where to go from here?

heres a link to my specs https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sVBmRG

Yeah, let us know how that goes. Just refer to my post from earlier talking about the three different ways it could go.

Also make sure you used DDU to completely wipe the drivers out of the system before you just consider it dead in the water if it works on the other system but not yours, as long as a different GPU works on your board.

When you say take it out, are you meaning switching the display to the IO ports on the motherboard to use integrated, or actually physically removing the GPU and doing that?

What PSU are you running? Did you try reseating the GPU?

430w evga psu so plenty of overhead for a 1050 ti and Pentium cpu, i added a link to my pcppr in my original post.

As for my gpu i have actually removed it from the system and plugged my display into my integrated graphics. I've done this several times to try to fix the problem through solutions found on through google.

At this point i've completely deleted the 1050 ti drivers off of my system in hopes that it would boot at 800x600 resoltion without drivers installed but it still black screens before bios. i did notice that my msi board has a debug light on with the gpu installed, which indicates GPU is not detected or fail.

You used DDU to ensure the drivers were removed?

It may be a bad GPU. Best bet is to RMA it since it's not booting. It might take some time, but it's better than having one that just wont turn on.

Is there other PCIe power plugs available? Have you tried other ones?

1050 ti does not use additional power from the psu, all of its power draw comes from the mobo slot.

all that i can think to do is grab a different gpu from work to test and see if my mobo slot is faulty, and also test this 1050ti in a different pc to make sure that this gpu isn't the problem.

Well if you have that option definitely do that. If no GPU works your board is probably out then. It sounds like you've answered your own question in the end. If the card works in another system and none work on yours, the Mobo is bad. If the card doesn't work on another system but a card works on yours, the card is bad. If the card doesn't work and no card works in yours, they're both bad.

I presume on the 1050 Ti card you did plug the six pin Pci-e 12v power some of the cards need to work properly.

It`s very easy to miss the six pin Pci-e power connector on the 1050 Ti card as it is often tucked under the shroud of the cards cooling solution.

It`s either that or you have not connected the four or eight pin EPS 12v power connector that goes directly from the 430W Psu you have.

If the eight pin, or four pin 12v Eps connector has not been connected the result is the card is not detected in the Pci-e Graphics card slot of your motherboard.

The same also applies to if the six pin 12 Pci-e power connector from the Psu is not directly connected to the 1050 Ti graphics card Joseph.

You need to go back and check both of the two power connectors where you will find one or the other has failed to be connected since you fitted the 1050 Ti card.

Top right in the center picture, the six pin 12v Pci-e power connector for the 1050 Ti card, click on the link to see the picture of the graphics cards circuit board.

The 12v Eps power is four pins in black, top most part of the motherboard in the picture link bellow.

You will be good to go then with no black screening of the system while it`s running, or the card failing to be detected in the Pci-e graphics card slot of your motherboard Joseph ok.

no. there is no extra pci-e power for the zotac 1050 ti OC

http://www.thinkcomputers.org/zotac-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-oc-edition-graphics-card-review/2/

you can clearly see in this link that without the cooler on it there are no pins to be plugged into that you are talking about

exactly, it played rock solid for hours of gaming. When it stopped working it wasn't even under load so i'm thinking its some sort of driver issue but i'm absolutely lost as to what could be the issue. i'll try swapping gpu with a different one when i'm home later to see if that rules out anything
