Hi, so I have an issue with my GPU and why nothing is showing on myour monitor. So I watched a video on how to build a cheap $250 console killer PC. The steps are simple
>buy a pre-built computer equipped with an I5-2400 and no OS for $99
>Buy an MSI RADEON RX460 2GB GDDR5 OC Edition gpu for $99
>buy 4 more GB of ram
>and the OS

So I ended up following the steps and now I have the pc with everything, the only problem is that the GPU doesn't seems to show anything on my monitor. The box says the system requirements are 8GB of ram, check, 400w supply, at first no but now yes (I'll explain). So at first I thought the problem was the 260w PSU. Fundamentally the gpu wasn't getting enough power. So I upgraded to a 400W PSU and still nothing. Either this GPU requires more power, or its broken. Or perhaps something else. I was told this certain gpu only uses up to 75w to 100w. And I only have tworked data cables being used for the HDD and DVD reader. What would you pc wizards think the problem could be?

Things to keep in mind:
I used an older GPU
MSI Radeon R4350 and the start up screen does come up, but I'm sure that gpu is much older and requires less wattage usage than the Rx460

unsupported motherboard bios I suspect easy to see and find may not have full 75w pci-e slot that card needs ?

''. The steps are simple''

what prebuilt is it ?? hp dell acer ?? what model ?? quite a few of them brand prebuilts may not take any card these cards need uefi bios 's and maybe why the old card works and the new one don't

It's a Lenovo Thinkcentre M91P

the cards not supported poor guys with prebuilts get told ''its got a pci-e slot so any card will work ''' when I fact that's so far from true they go buy a nice card and sut looking at a blank scvreen and / or error beeps if they get that lucky ..

it s getting to the point now you cant even trust a lot of custom builds with the latest cards un supported bios = no display

in the end any upgrade you do is all your own risk . the prebuilt manufactures only guarantees there computers work as sold to you as is out of the box from there factory with what they put on it , not a drop more

there in business to sell you whole ready to go computers , and dont worry about you upgrading them or giving you support to do so . thats not how they make there money they prefer you run to wal-mart and buy there ''better'' latest models

looks like that guide you followed was a big bad idea to start with , silly
