Updating a old system, Q6600 that is ready for update. I want to use the I7 7700K cpu and a good Gigabyte Board. Always had good luck with Gigabyte boards. Here is what I use the computer for. I just want something fast and to be able to run next 6 years. Cpu might be a over kill but I want speed, something that boots fast and opens programs faster.
Excel
Copy movies
Search Internet
Large data base program
Lot of Misc stuff

Well, Gigabyte has an extensive line-up of Z270 boards. You'll have to be more specific.

Form factor (FATX, ATX, uATX, ITX)
Features: WiFi, Dual LAN, Thunderbolt, USB 3.1, M.2, U.2, # of SATA ports
Premium audio
RGB lighting (very common on the high end boards, so you'll probably end up with that)

Speed of applications and booting is mostly drive related. Pretty much any SSD will get you that. If you want high levels of performance then an M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD is a good option. A bit expensive though.
