Get I7 7700k or wait for Ryzen?

With the leaks of the Ryzen and literally only a click away from purchasing all my parts for my build, I am torn if I7 7700k is still a good choice for a high end gaming build. I tend to stream, and multitask quite a bit, so I am wondering if waiting for the more core processor amd is dropping within the same price range is better even if it means a weaker core speed per core. What are your opinions on this? Wait or can I not go wrong with the Intel chip?

the i7-7700k is a great processor, it is by far not the best i7 out though lol Intel itself has tons of high core CPU's other than 4 cores 8 threads. Like the 5820k and tons of other's, Overall no one knows how good Zen is I'm hoping its great myself. But it's AMD they have let their customers down a lot in the past and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again but it seems promising. If you can't wait going with Intel is NEVER a bad idea, And an i7-7700k is very future proof.

The 7700K will continue to be a hugely powerful processor for years no matter what Ryzen does. That being said if I was considering a new build right now I'd wait a month. If nothing else it may prompt Intel to cut prices.

What CPU are you using and what is it clocked at? As for performance, Kaby Lake is very little more than an Ivy Bridge with higher clocks.

If you have an Ivy Bridge or something close that is clocked at 4.4GHz to 4.6GHz there is no reason to upgrade, unless you do not have HT on your old CPU, if it is Intel [you said that you, "tend to stream, and multitask quite a bit", so HT will be important if you go Intel].

I am beginning to believe AMD will have a good chip. Why? Now that release is nearing, there are leaks every day, yet AMD is still holding its "cards" close to the chest, not revealing exact performance numbers.

Intel is going to release an updated CPU later this year that is supposed to be 15% faster than the i7 7700K.

Interesting times we live in for once.
