Red light on motherboard next to DRAM - MSI H110i PRO AC

Hello. I built my first computer yesterday and everything was going really smooth up until i turned the damn thing on. Everything is showing power i.e. the fans are spinning and so forth. But it won't post! It just says "no video input" on the screen. And theres a red light next a line of text; "DRAM"
I guess it has something to do with RAM then.

I've tried many different methods, loosening the motherboard screws, taking out my graphics card and reinstalling it, tried a cmos but without the jumpercap, tried to un- and reinstall the cpu and heatsink fan. I've only got one ram stick and i've been booting my computer up in the two different slots many times now and even without the ram in the system.

Please help! Do I need a new stick of ram? Or might it be my motherboard that is the problem?

Specs:
MSI H110I PRO AC
Intel core I3-6100
Crucial 1x8GB DDR4 2133 CT8G4DFD8213
Toshiba 640GB 5400 rpm
Sapphire Radeon rx 460
Fractal Design node 202

Solution
Solution: The motherboard was defect. I returned it and bought Asus B150I PRO GAMING/WIFI/AURA. It was about $30 more expensive but totally worth it. I had heard that you shouldn't buy cheap motherboards so I went for something that has a bit more quality to it.

It's connected to SATA. I tried using another HDD, a WD 7200 rpm that holds 320GB but the same results. I've installed the system a second time now even but no change at all. Some people said that it might be my monitor and i'm willing to try a different monitor but i can't get over the red light...

Well, I checked yesterday if any of the pins are bent but i'm gonna check again for sure. The 4pin is connected. The PSU is SFX but not sure if that makes a difference.

Is the mainboard another word for motherboard? If it is, then i'm pretty sure it is correctly installed since the stand offs are preinstalled in the case.

Yeah, i'm probably going back to the store and replace the one stick of ram with dual ram instead. Maybe some other brand too...

I tried the cmos but without the jumper caps. Don't know if it makes any difference since i used a screwdriver instead of jumper caps.

I was thinking of buying a different motherboard cause the ram i have is on that motherboards recommended ram list

**update** I checked the MSI site and the ram i bought was on the recommended list so i'm gonna exchange the ram to some other ram

So i'm out of ideas. I've changed the ram to Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2x4GB) but no difference when starting the computer. I checked the pins on the cpu socket and everything is fine. I installed the motherboard once again into the case. I did CMOS with a screwdriver.

I am out of ideas... Except changing my motherboard of which will cost me extra money...

Anybody have more ideas?
