Before I got dual monitors, I'd get about 40c idle on my GPU, but now when I have two monitors connected to it the idle temp goes to 60c. while gaming it goes to 70-80c, which I guess is normal. but why are the idle temps so high nad is it normal?

Solution
Well, you are using a second monitor, so the GPU has to render the frames for the game for both of the monitors now, but if you are only using one of the monitors for gaming, the graphics card still has to render the non-game frames for the other monitor. It sounds normal, but make sure that your GPU is getting adequate cooling. 90-100c is reaching the point of thermal throttling.
