i5 6600k on GA-Z170-HD3 and EasyTune (very basic questions)

I am sorry for posting such basic questions, but I am not a techy guy and I get so tired after work that I have trouble understanding all the amazing overclocking guides, so please bear with me.

I bought a new custom PC with i5 6600k and 2x8Gb DDR4 HyperX Savage 2666Mhz on GA-Z170-HD3.

I never planned to do custom overclock in BIOS, since I was afraid to break something, and I read about Gigabyte apps that help you do it safely and easily.

But when I used EasyTune, I ran into some problems - apparently, it won't allow me to have both 2666 MHz for my RAM and 4.4 MHz for my CPU at the same time. So it seems I will have to do it manually.

I would really appreciate if any of you guys could help me out with advice.

1) If I do have to do it myself, what is the most fail-safe method I could do it? Is there something in BIOS that would allow me to crank up CPU MHz as easily as changing XMP profile to Profile 1 for RAM? I don't want to push it to the limit, and I know 4.4 MHz is pretty safe. But I have no idea about all those voltages and other obscure settings.

3) Also, both in EasyTune, and in BIOS, when I try to see my maximum overclocked CPU frequency (after using EasyTune, to see if my setting stuck), I see constantly changing values – multipliers jumping from 2 to 39 to 35 to whatever, non-stop. System info tells me only the nameplate frequency. Is there any viewer that allows me to see the actual results of current overclock? Because Gigabyte apps do not seem to provide that utility.

Thank you for reading, hope you will answer.

oh yes, i know - and EasyTune did crash it every time (if failure to boot is what you mean)

"safely" - in that at least it will make sure i cannot select incompatible or excessive settings that will fry my hardware, by offering me preset profiles
