so my bday is coming but do i need i5 6600k or gtx 1060 cuz i cant buy both so tell me i have 1080p

Solution
For the vast majority of games, get the 1060. You will get higher FPS than just going with a 6600k.

However, you will still get some bottlenecking in CPU demanding areas, so eventually a 6600k/7600k is a good upgrade still.

Also keep in mind that if the computer is used for more than just gaming, the CPU will be of much more benefit than the GPU.

Other things to consider gaming wise is the amount of RAM and type of storage. Switching from a platter to a SSD will definitely help with load times, and 8gb or more of RAM will help prevent memory paging.
