I was looking to upgrade my PC for a while, and since my GPU (HD 6850) died not so long ago, I thought it would be time to start. I was looking for a card that's around 200€ and decided that the RX 480 (4GB) would be a good pick for what I need, but I'm not really sure if it's going to work with the rest of the components.

My current PC specs are : i5 2400, 4GB DDR3, GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3, + some HDDs.

I do know that the older stuff is going to bottleneck the GPU, but they will be replaced soon after, what I'm concerned about is if the card is going to work at all with them for the time being.

Also, while at it, what motherboard would go well with the RX 480 and an i5 6500 (which I intend to get)?- I'm not looking to overclock and/or run dual GPUs.

Thanks!

Solution
Rx 480 will work with your current setup.
You do know that you will need DDR4 Ram when you switch to i5 6500? As for mobo, any H110 or B150 that has all you need will do the work.

Thanks for your answer and yea, I'll buy 16 GB(2x8) DDR4 once I upgrade my mobo+cpu
