Which of these 2 would be the better option:

I will be using it for gaming + some 3d modeling on maya. I know it may seem a bit overkill, but If I hold out for a couple more months + stretch my budget to the extreme (about 1.75X) then I may be able to purchase this.

As I suspected. But the real question here is, which one is better?

Best suited for gaming and 3D modeling in Maya.

You can add HDD down the lane as per the requirement.

That SAMSUNG 960EVO SSD lot faster than that SAMSUNG 850EVO SSD.

But when using PC for 3D modeling it is recommended to use GPUs in non SLI configuration instead of SLI configuration to get better results.

Solution

I completely forgot about Titan X's apparently lol. Just a question: I know that installing OS + games etc. in an SSD will make them slightly faster. In that case, what's the point of having an HDD in the first place?

Thanks!

As of now SSD being lot costlier than HHD. Many cannot afford it to be used as storage unit. For saving data which is not to be used regularly. For that having larger capacity for same budget at what we get SSD is recommended and more meaningful.

The main drive which is used for OS and Games that are being played currently SSD is used to get faster load times and smooth experience.
