Hello!
I am looking to upgrade my CPU from an i3-6100 to an i5-6500. But I am wondering if I should upgrade my motherboard along with it (it is around 2 years old). I don't need any thing fancy, just something basic to go along with a new CPU. Any suggestions would be great!

Link to the CPU I was looking at: https://www.amazon.ca/Intel-Skylake-i5-6500-Quad-core-Processor/dp/B015XEWSMK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1487123583&sr=8-2&keywords=i5+6500

Here is my Rig:
CPU- Intel core i3-6100 Skylake
RAM- 8GB Dual-channel
MotherBoard- MSI H110M PRO-D (MS-7996)
Graphics-Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
PSU- EVGA 500 watt

Solution
Unless you need some feature or port your current board lacks, I wouldnt waste the money.
Motherboards dont exactly degrade with age.

Really? That's nice to here. So just the CPU would go well with my setup?

no, you don't need to upgrade, and still, I don't think that it worth upgrading on this CPU, I think upgrade make sense only if you will take kaby lake cpu's and something like i5 7600k or any i7 or i7 6600k
