Hi!
I've read a lot of threads, and did the recommended steps before posting.
Here are the specs :
- Memory : Crucial 4GB DDR4-2133 UDIMM PC4-17000 CL15
- Motherboard : GIGABYTE GA-H110M-A
- CPU : G3930
- SSD : AMD Radeon R3 120GB
A few precisions:
- We don't have any videocard on this PC. We're using onboard with processor graphics, as we do with all these workstations.
- We don't have any aftermarket CPU fan. I'm using the stock Intel's one.
- The keyboard's lights briefly turns on when I put of the PSU power on, but not when I push the case's power button.
- Everything is pluged in correctly, as per manual instructions and every precaution were taken. Not my first rodeo.
- Both CPU and memory models are supported by this particular motherboard.
What happens is the when I push the power button, the power supply works and then everything seems to be powered up, but nothing shows on the monitor and after 10 seconds or so, it reboots automatically, over and over again. I can't even see the bios as nothing shows on the screen: all I get is a black screen : the monitor is plugged by HDMI, which is the only slot on that motherboard... so it should go there by default, unless we can't boot a new PC using HDMI.
What I did so far:
- I removed all the unecessary connectors (front case, USB and such).
- I tested another PSU.
- Tried another power cord.
- I reseted the CMOS.
- I changed the battery with another one.
- When I hold the power button, it takes 4-5 seconds, and then the system will shut down: it's not instant.
- I double checked if the CPU fan was correctly pushed in. Push-pins were snapped correctly..
- I made sure that there is no screws lying around.
- I only have one memory module, but this motherboard is supposed to work fine with only one: I tried changing the module to the other slot, to no avail.
- There does not seem to have any bent pin on the motherboard's CPU socket and the CPU is installed correctly.
The two things I cannot check for sure are the reset pin (as my case has no reset switch) and the memory slot itself, as I don't have any other PC that uses DDR4. I don't have any system speaker lying around, so I can't test if there's any beep.
Is there anything else that I may have forgotten in my checkup that might pinpoint the culprit?
Thanks a lot!
