I bought a GTX 1050 ti but I still have a monitor with only VGA. I bought an adapter HDMI to VGA but the colors on my monitor are messed up and it is mostly blue. Could this be a bad adapter or something else? I already tried with other vga cable.
Newer cards don't support analog connections and require an active conversion. It probably is only getting a tiny bit of the signal over which just comes in to the monitor jumbled.
Does yours have external power? If so then yes it's active. Two things can look the same but not quite be the same. If it is an active, then it's bad pins like he's saying.
Damn. Well thank you all for your answers. Now I now exactly what to look. Then because it is not active, that's the reason why it is messing with the colors?

Ok. I'll do that. But I don't think it's the card since it's new and I saw it working perfectly on another monitor, and my monitor is working as normal.
Check to make sure that would even work. If there's an adapter for it and display port can be converted then yes. It wouldn't matter since all of the output is analog which port you use, DVI, HDMI, or Display Port.
