For the past couple months, my computer has begun to have some odd activity.

We pressing the power button the first time, it boots up to the Asus boot screen and then shuts off. Upon pressing the power button the second time, it boots up perfectly normal. This is repeated everytime the unit is powered up from cold state. Would anyone happen to have any idea what could be causing this. Please find specs below:

Well that's the thing. If your Mobo has a display slot you can unplug the GPU. If you have more than one stick of ram you can go down to one and switch it around slots.

Otherwise you need to do a battery of testing on it. Memtest86, CPUz stress test, benchmarking the graphics card (furmark or unigine), prime95 (version 26.6). This will test memory, GPU, cpu, and psu. In turn this will also test your current slots on the Mobo.

Not to my knowledge. How would overclocking be checked? I am fairly new with all this. Would that cause the exact symptoms that my computer is experiencing?

Thank you

I have no remaining warranty, I did update the bios a couple months ago, could that have something to w overclocking? What is the ideal setting for not overclocking?

So a fresh windows would help fix an initial boot issue? Like i said, it only does it after the first push of the power button, after that it boots up fully. I thought the power supply but i dont know

Yeah I figured that would be the route to take. Which can i unplug and the computer will still work?
