I'm buying some earbuds that are higher quality than what I usually buy. The ones I'm buying are the Shure SE215 Earphones.

My question is if it's worth buying these if I'm not listening to Hi-Fi Lossless audio files. I will primiarily listen to the Spotify app with extreme playback so about 320 kbps. Am I wasting my money or is this a good investment?

No I don't think you are wasting money. The only think I worry is, if these are your first IEM (In Ears Monitors) which is designed to majorly block outside noise (like earplugs) and should be inserted fairly deeply into your ear canals to achieve so... some people don't like it. Earphones may not be returnable for obvious reasons.

Audio wise, you will be taken to another realm of existence :) IEM great for public transportation, totally isolates you the outside world from your music. Go easy on the volume and be aware of traffic!

The SE215 is the low end of the Shures, they sell some usd800 pair, u don't waste money until u hit 1G. :)

What's the quality of your ears like?

Anyway read some reviews and make a choice, then live with it :) only you know what's worth it to you. Lsst time I was looking for headphone reviews one of the highest rated earbuds was actually < $10 can't find that but I think it may have been the same panasonic one mentioned here http://www.bestproducts.com/tech/gadgets/g958/cheap-earbuds-earphones/

I dont have experience from Apple Ear pods, but the Razer sound quality is a meh at best (i used for shooters a Tiamat headset).

Make a simple test if you could switch from 22/16 to 44/24, if you could notice the diference in the sound quality then a clear yes.

In the end all depends on the person and the personal prerences, i favout very neutral headsets with a very wide soundstage and that is usually only found in high quality headsets and earphones, in my case is a clear yes but i known other people that favour a burried mess of utra powerfull bass and then i would say that a can could give them the same "quality".

For me a good headphone is a good investment, but think that you also need the other half of the equipment to be decent enought, if you pair them with a thash soudcard or mobil phone, then you loose half of the gains that the earphones could give.

Btw they are what i would say "afordable" quality ones, you still have a looong road after them xD
