I'm planning to upgrade my pc to a better pc that can run games in a constant 60fps in games like Call of Duty, but I'm not sure how to know what parts I can get. So I'm asking can a motherboard with a AM3 socket be able to upgrade to any other processor with an AM3 socket or does it have to be a specific processor it can upgrade to. My motherboard is a HP H-RS880-uATX (Aloe) and it says the motherboard can upgrade to: AMD Phenom II X4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (D)
AMD Phenom II X3 7xx/7xxe Triple-Core (H)
AMD II Athlon X4 6xx/6xxe (P)
AMD II Athlon X3 4xx/4xxe ®)
AMD II Athlon X2 2xx/2xxe ®)

But can it upgrade to anything else then the processors I typed above?

Solution
In theory yes but may be somewhat restricted by a BIOS version, might have to update BIOS. Some more restriction may be implemented by ready made, brand name manufacturers.
There should be no problems if processor is listed in upgrade list.
