Hey guys. Sorry for the disturb but I have a problem that has not been solved for many months. I have a 1tb Seagate external hard drive. One day something showed up that it has to be formatted. I formatted my external hard drive it was all cleared up and I have accessed my external hard drive again. But the second time I plugged it again that thing showed up again saying it needs to be formatted. Any help will do. Need your help guys!

Do you need any of the data on that drive? If "yes", go ahead and try the drive with a different cable and a different computer, to see if the same thing happens. If you're able to access it, backup everything important right away. If you're unable to access it, you could try data recovery software: https://www.lifewire.com/free-data-recovery-software-tools-2622893 or try a different OS such as Ubuntu Live USB/DVD, to see if the partition/s are properly recognized.
If you don't need to recover data, go ahead and download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test the drive for errors and bad sectors, to see what's the situation with it.
