Are pc games more "sticky" than consoles?

Hi all, I've been a casual/console gamer since SNES and I'm considering switching to PC (excitingly in time for ryzen I hope). However I'm just replaying half life 1,2 and episode 1 & 2 (admittedly on my ps3) but it is reminding me how, even when I occasionally played pc games on a pc how "sticky" you are. By which I mean compared to the many console games I have played you constantly get stuck on every piece of scenery/ corner/door frame/ladder/chewing gum wrapper you touch and this leads to lots of annoying and preventable hits/deaths where you are trapped by objects in completely unrealistic ways especially when backing up or evading shots.

So my question is if this is still the case or if it just happens with the old games? There definitely seems to be a noticeable difference/feel to the games I've sampled on both- pc seems to move and turn faster but your character is sticky, console seems to move/turn slower but you tend to move over terrain /glide around objects much more realistically in the games I've played.

Thanks!

I switched to pc gaming about 4 years ago before that I was a console gamer my whole life. I have never experienced or even heard about pc games being "sticky", must be before my time. If you don't like KB+M just use a controller, the vast majority of pc games that can conceivably have controller support have it. I will say that half life 2 feels weird with a controller, I think the game just emulates a keyboard and mouse when using a controller which makes it feel unrefined for lack of a better word, newer games are not like that.

This is only really a problem with older games, new pc games are rigoursly tested before being released and have constant patches released. So to answer your question, no pc games are not more sticky than consoles.
