Just wondering when to stop overclocking the gt 940mx. the monitored temps of the gpu in game are only 64 degrees max, the temp limit in nvidia inspector is 91 degrees. I overclocked the base clock to max which is normal overclocking, but i overclocked the memory clocks from 900mhz to 1150 mhz. that means 250mhz on memory clocks. my system in game is super smooth and better ofcourse. temps are normal everything feels BETTER and NORMAL so im worried .
What are ur thoughts ?

best regards

The overclocking I do the most is cpus on my desktop, with laptops, the gpu is generally the only thing possible to overclock. Yes, if your games freeze randomly/black screen, try reducing the overclock till you get more stability. Try +75 on the core clock instead of your current clock.

Honestly, if your overclock is stable, and your temperatures are fine, then I'd keep going. What game(s) are you playing with that card? What software are you checking temperatures with? I got a decent boost from overclocking my gtx 950m, but my inability to add voltage limited my overclocking.

Thanks you for ur reply first. I am monitoring during play Dota 2 using HWinfo combined with RTSS to monitor everything in the game. I dont mess with the voltage. but a 63 degrees is the max temp for the gpu till now . However that, i wanna know some symptoms showing the system is unstable. Again i repeat , the overclocking is 135mhz in the base clock and 250mhz in the memory clock. Do u think this is too much usually?

Hey. So i examined a game crash or a system crash if might be called. had to shut down the game coz the rendering had stopped i guess. I was only able to move the cursor but the game screen was frozen so i had to restart the game. THen after a while, i played another match and i expected some weird stuff in the game , for example trees height is infinite, it is a glitch or something. Do u think these are signs to underclock ?

(update: the link is better now)

These are the GPU specs and Oc. If u think this overclocking is missmatched with the volts or something tell me. Tell me the regular common overclocking that would you do mate.

I underclocked the memory speed by 50 mhz. Will test again and catch u up with further results. Ty very much
