So I currently have a gtx 980 ti,and acer Xb271hu monitor, I am planning to get 2 more to run a triple 1440p 144 hz. My question though is what should I do on the gpu part to run games such as bf1 on high >60 fps

My current budget for both monitors +gpu= $2k

Will 2x gtx 980 tis run the triple monitors?

If you want to get the same card just do that. Keep in mind that SLI will only run one monitor and only works with the exact same card.

Yes that could work, but dragging windows between the displays as far as the respective cards can cause issues. The card will render whatever is on its display. If you move between the two on the 1080 you'll be fine. Moving to the window over to the other card can cause crashing or graphical glitching during the transition. Otherwise it should be fine.

Ok what if Get 2 more gtx 980 tis so that each monitor is being run by 1 gpu, can I still run the same game on all 3 monitors without issues? Also will I in this situation connect them with the sli bridge or not?

SLI only allows one display. Period. However many cards your board can handle is what you could do. I've personally plugged in 4 screens on two cards (albeit the same model) just fine. I could turn on SLI but it turns off all other displays but the primary one. I'm highly in the dark about three Nvidia GPUs on the same board. I know Radeon can do three way crossfire for one display, but as far as a display on each card and three cards? I'm not entirely sure. I'm also sure that plugging in multiple cards can reduce the performance of a single one, but I'd need someone to verify that.
