mother board speaker wont beep with no GPU installed

HI, i have an asus a68hm-plus mother board it was working fine for about six months but about a month ago, my mouse randomly stopped receiving power from the motherboards usb ports. About a week ago, i was playing a video game normaly with around 60 fps. All of a sudden, my fps dipped down to about ten. Confused, I shut down my PC and opened it up to try and see what the problem was I took of the side panel and looked inside, nothing seemed out of the ordinary so i started with the most likely problems. I reseated the gpu and the ram. when i turned on the PC again, all my fans spun up and the lights on my ram came on like usual. However, my motherboard lighting (the little yellow lights to seperate the audio part) did not come on there was also no image on my monitor. ive tested every thing in a different pc except the cpu and power supply but the cpu heats up so I assume it is not the cpu. the gpu fans are powered by the pcie slot and still come on but there is still no image. I've tried different gpus in it but there is still no image. i am getting no beep codes and am very puzzled. could anyone help.
