My computer cant run Background Applications

Why is my computer now able to play a game and have a browser open in the background

AMD A10-7850K APU with Radeon(TM) R7 Graphics 4.2 GHz

Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Video Card #2 NVIDIA GeForce GT 710

RAM 8.0 GB

Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 (build 14393), 64-bit

My CPU is 2 core with 4 logical processors is that why?

What happens when you try to multitask?

Yeah ok insufficient RAM is almost definitely the problem.

Technically you only have 4 and a half GB RAM available which isn't enough for multitasking.
Why some of this RAM is unavailable isn't clear to me, but this is the problem.

i dont know why it is so low is their any way i could fix it i have just rested this Computer
i have closed a few applications and i am at 5.6 GB which is also low

Try to run an antivirus program. It might find something in the scan that might cause this

There is NO PROBLEM. Windows 'code' just to present itself on your screen and do all it does, takes around 2GB of Memory and NOT DOING ANYTHING. Now add in Antivirus protection, Add on any game support applications (UbiSoft, Steam, etc.), add in your Email checking program, add the music your streaming in the background, add in each single TAB you have open in your Web browser, then add...... and you can see how quickly it gets eaten.

If your a heavy multitasker you need minimally 16GB of RAM,. When your computer does (as your showed us) 'run out of memory' to do things, it 'borrows' some 'space' on the Hard Drive and constantly 'swapping in and out' the code as it uses it (this is why it is called SWAP memory). HDDs (Hard Drive Devices) are much slower than RAM and thus why it 'slow' or 'laggy' for applications (like games).

You either need to get more memory to add to the system (if it supports it) or you need to lower down your 'expectations' when your trying do use a heavy duty program like a game.

Also I wouldn't mix and match a low end card (GT 710) with a higher end card (GTX 1060). You should REMOVE the 710 as all that does is hobble the 1060 as they 'BOTH" try to support "TOGETHER" the computer as a whole.
