How much money should I expect to make out of college?

What can computer engineering do for me?

Any special travel that you do in your jobs?

  1. What do you like about your job? -- The people

What do you dislike about your jobs? -- The hours

What type of classes did you have to take to get your degrees? -- That was a long time ago and may not be relevant. Get a strong math background. It makes you think analytically.

What college did you attend? -- Refuse to answer

How much money should I expect to make out of college? -- I have no idea. Engineers don't usually know about new hire recruiting.

What can computer engineering do for me? -- Only you can answer that.

Any special travel that you do in your jobs? -- Not very special. Typical business travel ...

    Will happily follow Kanewolf's lead:

What do you like about your job? People, absolutely. The many challenges and opportunities to learn new things. The fun of actually getting something new working or something fixed.

What do you dislike about your jobs? Politics, clueless management, poor leadership, malicious end-users.

what type of classes did you have to take to get your degrees? I was fortunate and took a wide variety of classes (including math). Strangely enough I found myself relying more and more on communications skills (versus technical skills per se) to get things fixed or done.

What college did you attend? Will also withhold the name. Overall, I was lucky. Had more than college including military. Plus some good teachers, mentors, and co-workers that trumped all.

How much money should I expect to make out of college? That is a very tricky question to answer. We paid very good salaries to people who could do what needed to be done sans degree, education, or lengthy experience. For example: the COBOL folks during the 1999 - 2000 date rollover.

If you really want to get some monetary idea of things there are trade/professional organizations that collect, summarize, and publish IT salary information. May provide some guidence if you are asked about your salary expectations...

Google: "IT salary surveys" or some variation thereof.

For example only - not an endorsement or recommended source:

What can computer engineering do for me? Potential employers want to know what you can do for them. You will be quickly weeded out if they believe you will readily quit and go elsewhere "for me". The key is to balance yourself (which, I agree, only you can answer that part), your family, and your work.

Any special travel that you do in your jobs? Generally sent out to get something fixed somewhere. E.g., being told late Friday afternoon that you will be leaving on Sunday for 3 weeks..... Did manage to get to go to a few training seminars from time to time.
