Will getting a new network / Wifi card make a difference?

So I've recently been playing PC games for the last month or so and I have a very good PC to play them on. The problem is my ping will spike when I play making it unplayable (over 100). I play on wifi because I'm unable to connect using ethernet because my router is on the floor below. My question is should I get a new network card, or is there something else that I should buy for better signal?

Also I have 0 issues with other devices in the same room: phone, xbox, etc.

This is my PC: http://www.microcenter.com/product/467635/G313_Desktop_Computer

Powerline drops connections much less than wifi will. Wifi is subject to signals from outside your house that you can do nothing about It all depends on your house wiring as to how well powerline works. Unfortunately there is no way to predict but it works well in most peoples houses. The ones most people like a lot are the tplink 1200 series. The exact model depends on the type of power plugs you need.
I suspect it will not make much difference. WiFi is horrible for playing games because it is subject to random interference. There is not a huge difference between wireless cards anymore. You could go dual band but 5g actually has worse coverage but maybe less interference but it may not have less.

I would look at powerline network devices. These tend to work much better than wireless for games. The newest AV2 models that claim 600m or 1200m are best not so much because they are faster but because they work in more houses that have poor wiring than the older units.

I looked into them and they seem to drop connection frequently, and with certain PC games I can't have that happen. Are there any that you recommend that don't drop connection that are good quality? Appreciate the help.
