Please recommend a perfect replacement for the ATI Radeon HD 4850.

hey,

my loyal 'ati radeon hd 4850' has finally stopped working and i'm looking for a perfect replacement without breaking the bank. a good graphics card that will allow me to watch hd movies, play basic games like fifa 17 (i'm not a gamer and i don't game a lot) and i need good overall performance.

my pc config is pretty basic and nothing out of this world.

cpu: intel core i5 3330
motherboard: gigabyte b75m-d3h
ram: corsair 8gb ddr3

could you recommend an ati option - like an ati r7 250 (if it's any good that is) - if possible?

I did, above:
RX 460 (better)
GTX 750 Ti

and maybe

GTX 1050 (although prices seem a little too high for you)

super! and one last thing, will the rx460 require a heavy duty power supply or a power supply around 400w work fine? thank you!

The RX 460 is very light and some models don't even need a PCIE connector because it won't draw more than 75w from the motherboard's PCIE slot.

You don't need more than this model

You can unlock an RX 460 Red Dragon 2GB's cores and get a free 5-7% increase in performance, pushing it further towards GTX 1050 level performance for only 83 dollars.

All cards mentioned are severely behind the RX 460.

Your option is either the RX 460 or the GTX 1050, others are obsolete and very outdated graphics cards.

The cards are definitely better than the GT 730, and you should go with the RX 460.

Better, newer, higher overclock capacity, better components.
Just a better card all around.
